Fast and Familiar Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) Race Winners Emerge from Competitive and Quality Entry at the HSR Fall Historics

HSR Fall Historics

A fast and familiar group of Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) teams and drivers emerged victorious from a competitive and quality entry of more than 160 classic sports cars and other road racing machines from the last 60 years in last weekend’s HSR Fall Historics at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

The first event in HSR’s three-race stretch run to closeout the 2024 season, the Fall Historics weekend featured doubleheader WeatherTech Sprint races for all Run Groups as well as an action-packed lineup of HSR feature races in a non-stop schedule over the four-day event.

Perennial HSR powerhouse Todd Treffert once again emerged as the weekend’s top winner in his always-quick Speedconcepts 1974 No. 14 Porsche 911 IROC prepared by the 901 Shop. This time Treffert even went undefeated with a perfect five-for-five race performance, sweeping the Group 5 WeatherTech Sprints Saturday and Sunday and winning a trio of feature races.

Treffert’s feature race haul included overall and class wins Saturday in both the B.R.M. Endurance Challenge GT Classic (GTC) and Vintage one-hour race and the Sasco Sports International/American Challenge sprint. He also took Classic RS Cup honors in the combined race with HSR’s Global GT series for more contemporary but retired GT cars. In addition to his overall and GTC B.R.M. victory, Treffert’s Sasco Sports win was particularly impressive as he topped a field of 38 entries for the overall and Porsche-class wins.
