Road Atlanta is proud to host the Hall County Relay for Life on May 31st. This American Cancer Society event is open to everyone!
What is Relay for Life?
Relay for Life is a celebration- an exciting local activity that is driven by teams from all walks of life to honor cancer survivors, remember those lost to cancer, and fight back against this terrible disease. Funds are raised both individually and as a group in many unique and fun activities both prior to and during Relay. The culmination of Relay is a 12-hour event (6p-Midnight) where teams decorate their tents with a theme and celebrate survivors and remember lost ones. It is filled with ongoing activities that energize the night as scores of people walk the track continuously during the night because "cancer never sleeps."
This is a time where the entire community joins together to show their support for survivors and the fight against cancer while enjoying activities, entertainment, camaraderie and food. At every Relay, new friends are made, old friends are hugged, and hearts are touched by the magic of Relay. It is an event like no other and Road Atlanta is an ideal place to spend your Friday evening!
A sobering fact: 750 Hall County residents will be diagnosed with cancer this year and over 250 will lose their battle with cancer. But there are more than 5,500 cancer survivors in Hall County, and Relay for Life is a great way to show them your support as they fight this disease.
The American Cancer Society started Relay for Life 25 years ago. As a result of all the money raised through Relay for Life, it is estimated that an additional 90 lives are saved each day- nearly 33,000 lives per year! This event brings hope to so many through patient services, advocacy, educational programs, and research to make a difference for those who are battling cancer.
Come to Relay for Life and bring your walking shoes and some spending money as teams will be offering food, beverages and baked goods with all proceeds going to cancer research.
Whether you are a cancer survivor, caretaker, someone whose life has been touched by cancer, or someone who wants to fight back against this terrible disease, please join us May 31st at Road Atlanta for the Hall County Relay For Life.
